I am listening to a handy 2-hours Youtube video of Johann Sebastian Bach’s violin concertos—although I must say I fancy the Brandenburgischen Konzerte more. Yesterday I was listening to Vivaldi instead. I like to listen to this kind of structured music when I do some programming.
At the risk of sounding cliché, I had a flashback to when I was in middle and high school and studying piano and composition: to put my hands on anything like these concertos I had to ask my parents for money, then get on my bike, go to the records shop, buy a tape cassette, head back home, and only then I could finally listen to the music.
Now I have practically every single music piece written by humanity in the last centuries at a mouse click’s distance.
